Review Blitz: CASANOVA by Emma Hart

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000035_00027]I loved him more than life.

He broke me and he didn’t even know it.

I ran from him.

He didn’t chase me.

He never needed to, because he knew I’d come back.

He was right.

Death brought me home to him.

Brett Walker.

Drop dead gorgeous and filthy-mouthed with a smile that turns saints to sinners.

A casanova to his core.

My ex-best friend.

And the bad boy whose reputation precedes him—the same reputation I’m tasked with turning to gold… Or so they think.

CasanovaCasanova by Emma Hart

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Emma Hart’s books usually are full of sass, funny and always entertaining, and I loved every single one I’ve read, but this one wasn’t my cup of tea.

The story is about Lani and Brett. Best friends 8 years ago, until Lani moves away from her hometown. Now she’s back for her grandmother funeral and decides to stay some time to help her sister. Lani and Brett don’t talk with each other since she left. There was something Brett did and she’s holding a huge grudge on that…
Brett is this sexy and rich young man, destroying hearts all over the city… typical… but he and his family are holding a big secret that no one knows about…
Lani is a journalist and sees herself working for Brett’s father, to recover Brett’s reputation around the city… which takes her directly to Brett’s arms!
They are still attracted to one another… and the sexual tension is huge!

The writing in itself is good, there are some funny parts (after all this is a Emma Hart story) and the sexy scenes are intense.

Now, the reason this wasn’t my cup of tea:
I thought it was boring, I saw myself doing something I rarely do that is skipping parts. There’s too much the same going on. Back and forth all the time, always the same thing, that Brett is a jerk, treats women bad, doesn’t care for them… and the whole book goes about this! It’s boring!
I didn’t like the characters either… they are in their 20’s but almost look like they are still teenagers! And then when you get to know what “The Thing” is all about, its disappointing! Its not a BIG deal at all…

1p0a9045By day, New York Times and USA Today bestselling New Adult author Emma Hart dons a cape and calls herself Super Mum to two beautiful little monsters. By night, she drops the cape, pours a glass of whatever she fancies – usually wine – and writes books.

Emma is working on Top Secret projects she will share with her followers and fans at every available opportunity. Naturally, all Top Secret projects involve a dashingly hot guy who likes to forget to wear a shirt, a sprinkling (or several) of hold-onto-your-panties hot scenes, and a whole lotta love.

She likes to be busy – unless busy involves doing the dishes, but that seems to be when all the ideas come to life.
